London trip

Postby Kudos on Sat Sep 26, 2009 1:03 pm

Hey guys, I will be coming to London in November to support my favourite football team (Standard de Liège) in the Champions League against Arsenal. I decided to stay for a few days. And I was wondering if someone of you is familiar with the city.
So if someone is, could you give me some tips on what I must see, do's and don'ts, maybe some shopping possibilities (£ vs. € is in my advantage), good clubs, bars, pubs, restaurants,...
The area I will be staying is St. Pancras - Islington.

I also haven't found a hotel. There is this hotel where some mates of me will stay. But that one has only rooms left with "shared facilities" (so no bathroom on the room). An other hotel that's on my list, I've been reading as well good as bad reviews about it, so I don't know. Any suggestions, except of staying at the Hilton, that's a bit expensive?

Thx in advance!

Hmm, there is a fair few things to do in London. Loads and loads, depends what you really want to see? Things like buckingham palace / changing of the guard, london eye, aquarium, various parks, oxford street, piccadily circus, trafalgar square, london dungeon... the list is endless. :)

I'm not hot on bars and stuff, Strada is a good bet for food. There are a few around.

Two nights are separating me from London. I'll probably visit the Buckingham Palace with the changing of the guard.
Because of the endless list of things to do in London, I got a little book about London from the library. The list stays very big, but I've got some ideas now. Other places I'm thinking of visiting are the National Gallery, the British Museum, maybe a park, some squares, ...
Anyone know or the FA Hall of Fame is worth visiting?

And if someone is in London next Tuesday, be aware of a crazy, but mostly friendly, mob dressed in red and speaking funny English with a French or Dutch/Flemish accent. :D
